What is it?

The SkillsUSA Nebraska championships is the showcase for the best career and technical students in Nebraska. Moe than 1200 people - including students, teachers and business partners - are expected to participate in the two and one-half day event. Students in skilled and technical science contests work against the clock and each other, proving their expertise in occupations like electronics, computer-aided drafting, precision machining, medical assisting and culinary arts. Leadership contestants will demonstrate skills including extemporaneous speaking and conducting meeting by parlimentary procedure. The competitions will be open to the public and free of charge. The philosophy of the Championships is to reward students for excellence, to involve industry in directly evaluating student performance and to keep training relevant to employers' needs.
