What is it?

The Mid-America conference is a leadership conference with training for State Officers, local officers, advisors and specifics on how to run a local chapter. Students and advisors are placed into chapters and they will complete the National Program of Work in the three days of the conference. The students will be planning, implementing and completing community service projects, fundraisers, officer elections, contests and all necessary elements to have a successful chapter. Students will have many opportunities to network and interact with students from other states.

Conference Eligibility

The Mid-America conference is open to state directors, state officers, advisors and students who want to become better leaders. This conference is a must for new advisors who want to learn how to run a chapter. Last year representatives from seven states attended. This conference is open to all states that would like to attend.

What does it cost?

The average cost per student for the entire conference (including rooms & meals) averages $180 plus transportation. Students will want to bring extra spending cash for the fundraisers and social.

Attendees should note the conference begins at 8:00 a.m., Thursday, October 21, 2010. Schools from out of state and Nebraska schools that have a long drive to Columbus, usually arrive on Wednesday evening to stay overnight in the hotel.
